ETHR
Factory
[ EP | 3 tracks | 202O ]
Factory was my debut under the alias ETHR (/ether/). A three-track EP which explores the most tense and philosophic side of experimental EBM-techno music.
With a dystopian Intro by way of manifest, the EP dives into our relationships with the human and the material in the era of the social and mass media. A reflection on the disconnection from our closest reality, our spiritual plane and the construction of our virtual identities, among other symptoms of a new social paradigma strongly marked by our dependence on the digital world.
Technology was intended to bring us closer. Are we getting it? That is the question at the end of the intro which gives birth to Factory: An industrial techno track, whose IDM essence evoques the cold and inorganic sound of the machines. As if it was representing the less connected humanity, unaware from itself. But also a true statement on the dancefloor as a symbol of unity.
The track Factory was included in Tidal's curated playlist Spanish Beats, alongside other releases by consolidated artists on the Spanish scene such as Fernando Lagreca, Cora Novoa or Henry Saiz, and DJ Mag referenced the work and supported the artist with an exclusive premiere.
